Target Information

Bovine 10 kDa heat shock protein, mitochondrial (HSPE1) is a co-chaperonin that plays a significant role in mitochondrial protein import and macromolecular assembly. It works in conjunction with Hsp60 to facilitate the correct folding of imported proteins, preventing misfolding and promoting the refolding and proper assembly of unfolded polypeptides under stress conditions within the mitochondrial matrix.
