Target Information

Mouse Angiopoietin-Related Protein 2 (Angptl2) is a pro-inflammatory and pro-angiogenic protein that plays a significant role in various biological processes. It is highly expressed in cardiac fibroblasts and contributes to tissue remodeling and inflammation. Angptl2 is essential for aortic valve development in mice, regulating the balance between apoptosis, senescence, and proliferation of valvular cells through the Notch signaling pathway. In disease models, Angptl2 deficiency leads to aortic valve stenosis due to impaired valve remodeling during embryogenesis.
