Target Information
Mouse Glutamine Synthetase (Glul) is a key enzyme involved in the synthesis of glutamine from glutamate and ammonia. It plays a crucial role in nitrogen metabolism, detoxifying ammonia by converting it into glutamine. Glul is highly expressed in astrocytes in the brain, where it helps maintain nitrogen balance and supports neuronal function. In the liver, Glul contributes to ammonia detoxification and urea synthesis.
