Target Information
Bovine Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a key enzyme found in neutrophil granules, playing a critical role in the immune response and host defense mechanisms. It catalyzes the conversion of hydrogen peroxide and chloride ions into hypochlorous acid, a potent antimicrobial agent. MPO is involved in inflammation and has been implicated in various inflammatory conditions and diseases. Elevated levels of MPO are associated with cardiovascular diseases, where it contributes to endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis. In bovine research, MPO is used to study immune responses, inflammation, and the pathogenesis of related diseases. ELISA kits are available for measuring MPO levels in bovine serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates, aiding in the investigation of its role in various physiological and pathological processes.
