Target Information
Rabbit Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor C (VEGFC) is a key regulator of lymphatic and vascular development. It binds to VEGF receptors 2 and 3, promoting lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis. In rabbit models, VEGFC has been shown to enhance lymphatic vessel growth in the conjunctiva, improving outcomes in glaucoma filtration surgery by reducing intraocular pressure. Additionally, VEGFC has demonstrated therapeutic potential in promoting angiogenesis in ischemic hindlimb models, improving blood flow and capillary density. These findings highlight VEGFC's dual role in lymphatic and vascular health, making it a promising target for treating conditions related to lymphatic dysfunction and ischemia.
