Target Information
Rat VEGF co-regulated chemokine 1 (VCC-1, CCL21) is a 12-kDa CC chemokine predominantly expressed in rat lymphoid tissues (lymph nodes, spleen), endothelial cells, and inflammatory sites. It binds to CCR7 receptors on T cells, B cells, and dendritic cells, mediating lymphocyte homing to lymphoid organs and directing immune cell trafficking during inflammation. Beyond immune cell recruitment, it modulates angiogenesis by interacting with vascular endothelial cells, supporting vascular remodeling in physiological and pathological contexts. Critical for rat immune surveillance, lymphoid tissue organization, and inflammatory responses, its dysregulation associates with autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammation, and tumor metastasis. As a key mediator of immune cell trafficking and angiogenesis, rat VCC-1 is a critical target for studying immunology, inflammatory pathologies, and cancer immunotherapeutics.
