Rat SLAMF2 is an integral cell surface glycoprotein with conserved extracellular immunoglobulin-like domains that retain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is predominantly expressed on various immune cell populations and mediates intercellular contact through surface binding interactions. Its multi-span transmembrane structure and immune tissue-biased distribution differentiate it from soluble secreted cytokines, cytoplasmic trafficking adaptors and chromatin-binding nuclear transcription factors with simplified single-domain assemblies widely distributed across non-immune somatic cell lineages.
