Target Information
Rat Lactase (LCT) is a brush-border membrane β-galactosidase expressed in jejunal enterocytes, where it hydrolyzes milk lactose into absorbable glucose and galactose. The enzyme is developmentally regulated, rising at weaning and declining with age, making it a marker of intestinal maturation. Loss or down-regulation leads to lactose malabsorption and osmotic diarrhea. As the rate-limiting step in dietary lactose utilization, rat LCT is an important target for studies of carbohydrate digestion, nutrient transport, and age-related changes in intestinal function.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
