Target Information

Mouse cluster of differentiation 14 (CD14) is a 53 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein that targets lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and lipoteichoic acid, acting as a co-receptor for TLR4/MD-2 to initiate innate immune signaling. Its N-terminal leucine-rich repeat domain presents a unique, species-restricted epitope ideal for antibody generation; anti-CD14 immunoreagents detect membrane-bound and soluble forms in serum, peritoneal fluid and tissue sections without cross-reacting with other LRR proteins, providing a precise read-out of myeloid activation and bacterial recognition.
