Target Information
Rat cluster of differentiation 32 (CD32, also FcγRII) is a low-affinity IgG Fc receptor anchored in the plasma membrane of macrophages, B cells, and granulocytes. It targets the constant region of IgG immune complexes, delivering inhibitory or activating signals depending on its cytoplasmic ITIM or ITAM motifs. CD32 thereby controls phagocytosis, degranulation, and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity without mediating complement fixation. Its extracellular Ig-binding domain presents a unique, species-restricted epitope ideal for antibody generation; anti-CD32 clones enable specific labeling of Fc-receptor-bearing leukocytes in tissue sections and flow cytometry, avoiding cross-reactivity with rat FcγRI or FcγRIII.
