Target Information

Mouse CAP1 is a type I membrane protease carrying conserved extracellular serine protease catalytic segments and a short cytoplasmic tail. It retains steady folded structure and intact substrate recognition loops under physiological states, anchored on the outer membrane of epithelial cell populations. Its surface-tethered protease domain composition and epithelial-restricted expression separate it from soluble cytoplasmic enzymes, secreted circulating signal proteins and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with simplified structural frameworks and confined single-compartment localization profiles.
