Target Information
Inhibin Beta B Chain is encoded by the INHBB gene in pigs. Inhibins are gonadal glycoproteins of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily that act to suppress pituitary follicle-stimulating hormone and consist of a common alpha subunit linked by disulfide bonds to either a betaA or betaB subunit. It forms heterodimers with beta A and beta B subunits. Inhibins and activins, both members of the TGF-β superfamily, have opposing actions and are involved in hormone secretion, growth, and cell differentiation.
