Target Information

Disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain-containing protein 10 (ADAM10) is a transmembrane metalloprotease responsible for the ectodomain shedding of various transmembrane proteins, including adhesion proteins, growth factor precursors, and cytokines, playing a crucial role in development and tissue homeostasis. In mice, ADAM10 serves a wide array of functions, ranging from extracellular matrix degradation to neural development, cardiovascular development, and involvement in pathological disease processes. ADAM10 is pivotal in the development of the mouse cerebral cortex, as it regulates the maintenance and differentiation of neural stem cells via the Notch signaling pathway, thereby influencing neuronal maturation and synapse formation.
