Specifications
Target Information
The porcine estrogen receptor beta is encoded by the ESR2 gene. ERβ is a member of the estrogen receptor family and the nuclear receptor transcription factor superfamily. The gene product contains an N-terminal DNA-binding domain and a C-terminal ligand-binding domain and is localised to the nucleus, cytoplasm and mitochondria. Genes encoding estrogen receptors (ESRs) are considered candidate genes for fertility traits because of the key role these molecules play in regulating reproductive physiology.
