Target Information

Dermatopontin is encoded by the DPT gene in pigs. It is a non-collagenous matrix protein that is highly expressed in the dermis and is known for its remarkable ability to promote cell adhesion. It interacts with decorin and modifies collagen fibrillogenesis. It also enhances the biological activity of transforming growth factor beta 1, which plays a central role in the wound healing process.
