Mouse Apolipoprotein A4 (APOA4) ELISA Kit-Sandwich

Apolipoprotein A-IV plays a role in the secretion and metabolism of chylomicrons and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL). It is essential for the efficient activation of lipoprotein lipase by ApoC-II and is a potent activator of LCAT. ApoA-IV is a major component of HDL and chylomicrons. In mice, apolipoprotein A-IV (apoA-IV) is primarily involved in lipid metabolism, intestinal fat absorption, and regulating food intake. It plays a crucial role in intestinal lipid metabolism by enhancing lipid absorption and promoting the secretion of larger particles known as chylomicrons. For instance, in apoA-IV knockout (KO) mice, although intestinal lipid absorption remains normal, plasma triglyceride (TG) and cholesterol levels are significantly reduced, suggesting that apoA-IV influences lipid homeostasis through the regulation of chylomicron metabolism. Additionally, apoA-IV is involved in regulating liver lipid metabolism; its expression in the liver significantly increases under high-fat diet conditions.
