Target Information
The Type-1 Angiotensin II Receptor (AT1) is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that plays a crucial role in the renin-angiotensin system. AT1 has vasopressor effects and regulates aldosterone secretion. It is an important effector controlling blood pressure and volume in the cardiovascular system. Type-1 Angiotensin II Receptor is encoded by the AGTR1 gene in pigs. It is a G protein coupled receptor, and is the main receptor of the Renin-Angiotensin System. Angiotensin II (AngII) is the main agonist of this system.
