Bovine Galanin Peptides is encoded by the GAL gene in cattle. It plays diverse roles and has been implicated in various biological functions. Galanin is closely involved in the modulation and inhibition of action potentials in neurons. Galanin is both a neurohormone and a neurotransmitter and plays multiple physiological roles in the neuroendocrine axis, including regulation of food intake, insulin levels, and somatostatin release.
