Target Information

Actins are highly conserved proteins involved in cell motility, structure, and integrity. Actin alpha 1 is one of six different actin isoforms identified. Actin, Alpha Skeletal Muscle is encoded by the ACTA1 gene in pigs. It is a protein that is present in muscle tissues as a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. Skeletal alpha actin expression is induced by stimuli and conditions that lead to muscle formation.
