Target Information

In mice, fibrinopeptide A (FPA) is primarily involved in the processes of coagulation and fibrinolysis. The release of FPA is closely linked to thrombosis and fibrinolysis, and elevated FPA levels can reflect thrombin activity, thereby indirectly indicating the potential for thrombosis. In mouse models, FPA may also partake in other physiological and pathological processes. For instance, following trauma, FPA levels significantly rise during the regulation of coagulation and fibrinolysis, suggesting its role in the post-traumatic stress response. Additionally, under inflammatory conditions, FPA may influence the inflammatory response by affecting platelet activation and aggregation. Studies have shown that FPA levels are elevated in inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn's disease, and are associated with the degree of disease activity, indicating that FPA may play a regulatory role in inflammation.
