Target Information

Endostatin is a potent inhibitor of endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis. It likely disrupts angiogenesis by binding to heparan sulfate proteoglycans involved in growth factor signaling. Additionally, it specifically inhibits proliferation and migration of endothelial cells induced by the VEGFA isoform VEGF165. Endostatin appears to block VEGFA-mediated signaling by interfering with the interaction between VEGFA and its receptor KDR/VEGFR2. In mice, endostatin serves multiple roles, including exhibiting significant anti-tumor effects, inhibiting angiogenesis, improving certain disease models, and potentially regulating physiological functions. Research indicates that introducing the gene encoding mouse endostatin into NIH/3T3 fibroblasts through adenovirus-mediated gene transfer technology effectively inhibits the growth of mouse renal cell carcinoma.
