Target Information
Interleukin-36 gamma, also known as IL-1F9, exhibits significant pro-inflammatory effects in mouse lung inflammation. Research has demonstrated that IL-36γ can enhance inflammatory responses by activating macrophages and neutrophils, thereby promoting the expression of inflammatory factors like IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and CXCL1. For instance, IL-36γ can directly induce the activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway in macrophages, leading to increased production of inflammatory factors. In a mouse model of yellow fever virus infection, IL-36γ has been identified as a key factor in liver damage. Studies indicate that its expression is regulated by the type I interferon signaling pathway; mice lacking type I interferon receptors (such as IFNAR−/−) show elevated IL-36γ levels and more severe liver damage following infection.
