Target Information
Iprodione is a broad-spectrum dicarboximide fungicide widely used in agriculture to control fungal diseases on fruits, vegetables, and grain crops. Animal-derived food safety risks emerge when livestock consume crop byproducts, treated forage, or feed contaminated with iprodione residues. Once ingested, the parent compound and its major metabolites can bioaccumulate in animal tissues-concentrating heavily in the liver and kidneys-and transfer into milk and eggs. Because iprodione is classified as a potential human carcinogen and can induce reproductive and hepatic toxicity, global regulatory agencies enforce specific Maximum Residue Limits for it in meat, poultry, dairy, and egg products to ensure consumer protection.
