Target Information
Indoxyl Sulfate is a potent protein-bound uremic toxin derived from dietary L-tryptophan. It acts as a diagnostic biomarker and a pathological mediator in chronic kidney disease (CKD). As a high-affinity agonist for the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR), IS promotes glomerular sclerosis, interstitial fibrosis, and oxidative stress in renal tissues. It is widely used in nephrology research to study the progression of renal failure and the development of cardiovascular complications associated with uremia.
