Target Information

Calretinin 2 is encoded by the chicken CALB2 gene. Calretinin exhibits both nuclear and cytoplasmic staining. It is a cytosolic calcium-binding protein that is widely expressed in mammalian and chicken neurons, including subpopulations of dorsal root ganglion neurons. Its exact function is not fully understood, but it is thought to act as a buffer or sensor of intracellular calcium ions
