Target Information

Triiodothyronine (T3) is a thyroid hormone that affects almost every physiological process in the body, including growth and development, metabolism, body temperature, and heart rate. The thyroid gland produces both T3 and its precursor, thyroxine (T4). T4 is converted to T3 in various tissues, including the liver, kidneys, and muscles. Research has shown that total triiodothyronine and thyroxine are lower in pregnant and lactating goats.
