Target Information
The PSMA7 gene in dogs encodes the proteasome subunit alpha type-7, also referred to as the 20S proteasome subunit alpha-4. This protein is part of the peptidase T1A family and serves as a 20S core alpha subunit. PSMA7 is part of the 20S proteasome and is involved in ubiquitin-dependent degradation of proteins. For example, it plays an important role in the regulation of HIF-1α, inhibiting its transcriptional activity by binding to specific subunits of HIF-1α. PSMA7 is aberrantly expressed in a variety of cancers. PSMA7 is also involved in the regulation of the NF-κB signaling pathway and inhibits NF-κB activity induced by NOD1.
