Target Information

Prostaglandin H2 is a type of prostaglandin and a precursor for many other biologically significant molecules. It is synthesized from arachidonic acid in a reaction catalyzed by a cyclooxygenase enzyme. It is unstable at room temperature, and it is often converted into different prostaglandins through various enzymatic reactions. PGH2 is biologically unstable and the type and activity of its metabolic products may vary in different regional vascular beds.
