Target Information
Orosomucoid, also known as alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (α1AGp, AGP, or AAG), is an acute phase protein present in plasma. This protein is classified as an alpha-globulin glycoprotein and is influenced by two polymorphic genes. It has anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating effects and exhibits different microheterogeneity under a variety of pathological conditions. Although the available data do not directly address the function of Orosomucoid in cats, based on its role in other species, it can be speculated that it may play an important role in cats' inflammatory response, immune regulation, and disease defense.
