Target Information
Bovine Tyrosine-Protein Kinase Receptor Tie-1 is encoded by the TIE1 gene in cattle. TIE1 is a cell surface protein expressed exclusively in endothelial cells. It has also been detected in immature hematopoietic cells and platelets. TIE1 plays a role in upregulating cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) such as VCAM-1, E-selectin, and ICAM-1 through a p38-dependent mechanism. It is essential for angiogenesis where it appears to have a role in vessel maturation.
