Target Information
Lutropin subunit beta, also known as luteinizing hormone subunit beta (LHβ), is a polypeptide that, in association with an alpha subunit common to all gonadotropin hormones, forms the reproductive signaling molecule luteinizing hormone. LH is expressed in the pituitary gland and plays essential roles in spermatogenesis and ovulation. Many studies in salmonids and other teleosts have shown that FSH and LH are differentially synthesized and released during the reproductive cycle.
