Peroxiredoxin-6 (PRDX6) is a member of the peroxiredoxin family, a group of antioxidant enzymes that play crucial roles in maintaining cellular redox balance and protecting against oxidative stress. It exhibits two distinct active sites, making it a bifunctional enzyme. Bovine Peroxiredoxin-6 is encoded by the PRDX6 gene in cattle. It has been previously described to be upregulated in oocytes after in vitro maturation in bovine oocytes.
