Target Information
Bovine Glycylpeptide N-Tetradecanoyltransferase 1 is encoded by the NMT1 gene in cattle. NMT1 facilitates the attachment of myristate (a 14-carbon fatty acid) to the N-terminal glycine of several protein molecules. This lipid modification, known as myristoylation, plays a vital role in protein function and localization within cells. It belongs to the protein N-terminal methyltransferase and glycylpeptide N-tetradecanoyltransferase family of enzymes.
