Target Information
Bovine metallo-beta-lactamase domain-containing protein 1 is encoded by the MBLAC1 gene in cattle. It is an endoribonuclease that catalyses the hydrolysis of the 3' end of histone-encoding pre-mRNAs. It is involved in the processing of histone pre-mRNA during S phase of the cell cycle, which is required for entry into/progression through S phase. It is predicted to enable hydrolase activity and metal ion binding activity. MBLAC1 is a nuclease specific for the cleavage of replication-dependent histone pre-mRNA.
