Target Information

Arginine is an amino acid which features a guanidino group appended to a standard amino acid framework. It is necessary for the production of nitric oxide (NO), a signaling molecule that regulates blood flow, mitochondrial function, and cellular communication. It is essential for the development of T-cells, which play a central role in immune response. Arginine serves as a precursor to other amino acids, including glutamate, proline, and creatine. In bovine mammary epithelial cells, arginine could relieve the inflammatory reaction induced by LPS and enhance the concentration of β-casein and the total casein.
