Tritrichomonas muris is a nonpathogenic protozoan found in the cecum, colon, and small intestine of mice, rats, and hamsters. Despite its typical nonpathogenic status, T. muris has the potential to become pathogenic, as its presence in the gut microbiota can stimulate type 2 immune responses.
