Target Information

Swine leptin receptor (LR) is a member of the class 1 cytokine family of receptors, which is widely distributed in both central and peripheral tissues. It is a single transmembrane receptor composed of extracellular, transmembrane, and intracellular domains. The LR plays a crucial role in regulating feed intake, energy expenditure, and the neuroendocrine axis. In pigs, the leptin receptor is localized in the brain and pituitary, and it is implicated in the regulation of immune function and the anorexia associated with disease.
