Target Information
Rabbit Selectin P (SELP) is a key adhesion molecule expressed on the surface of endothelial cells. It plays a critical role in the initial steps of leukocyte rolling and adhesion during inflammation. SELP mediates the interaction between leukocytes and endothelial cells, facilitating the recruitment of immune cells to sites of infection or injury. In rabbits, SELP is involved in various inflammatory responses and is upregulated in conditions such as atherosclerosis and ischemia-reperfusion injury. Its expression can serve as a biomarker for vascular inflammation and is a potential target for therapeutic interventions aimed at reducing inflammation and preventing cardiovascular diseases.
