Target Information
Rabbit Gap Junction Alpha-1 Protein (GJA1), also known as Connexin 43 (Cx43), is a key component of gap junctions, which are intercellular channels that facilitate the diffusion of low molecular weight substances between cells. In rabbits, GJA1 plays a crucial role in the synchronized contraction of the heart and embryonic development. It is also involved in various physiological processes, including cell communication and tissue homeostasis. Mutations in the GJA1 gene have been associated with developmental disorders and heart malformations. In research settings, GJA1 antibodies are commonly used to study its expression and function in different tissues and disease models.
