Target Information
Rabbit Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP2) is a key regulator of bone formation and repair. It belongs to the TGF-β superfamily and is highly conserved across species. BMP2 induces the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells into osteoblasts and chondrocytes, promoting bone and cartilage formation. In rabbits, BMP2 has been extensively studied for its role in fracture healing and bone defect repair. It is used to accelerate bone regeneration in various models, including spinal fusion and tendon-bone repair. BMP2 also interacts with other growth factors like TGF-β1 and VEGF, enhancing its effects on bone healing. However, its clinical application requires careful consideration due to potential complications like ectopic bone formation. BMP2's ability to induce bone formation makes it a valuable tool in orthopedic research and therapy.
