Target Information
C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 8 (CXCL8), also known as interleukin-8 (IL-8), is a protein encoded by the CXCL8 gene in sheep. CXCL8 is a major mediator of the inflammatory response. CXCL8 is a pro-inflammatory chemokine that functions as a chemotactic factor driving the recruitment of immune cells, including neutrophils. It has been identified as an important innate immune cytokine produced in response to Chlamydia infection.
