Recombinant Mouse T-Cell Surface Glycoprotein CD5 (CD5), C-His

Mouse T-Cell Surface Glycoprotein CD5, or CD5, is a glycoprotein expressed on T cells, involved in T cell development and function. In mouse models, CD5 is used to study T cell immunoregulatory roles. CD5 is expressed during early stages of T cell development in the thymus and remains present on mature T cells. It functions as a modulator of T cell receptor signaling, setting a threshold for T cell activation to prevent excessive immune responses. In autoimmune diseases, abnormal expression or function of CD5 has been associated with dysregulated T cell responses and tissue-specific autoimmunity. Additionally, CD5 is expressed on some B cells and has been implicated in the regulation of B cell responses. Research on CD5 has also extended to cancer immunology, where CD5 expression on tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes may influence their function and the overall antitumor immune response. Understanding the regulatory mechanisms of CD5 in different immune cell subsets is essential for developing targeted approaches to modulate immune responses in various pathological conditions.
