Target Information

Mouse Pulmonary Surfactant-Associated Protein D (Sftpd) is a protein involved in the formation and function of pulmonary surfactant, which reduces surface tension in the lungs and prevents alveolar collapse. In mice, Sftpd plays a crucial role in maintaining normal lung function and preventing respiratory distress syndrome. It also participates in the immune defense of the respiratory tract by binding to pathogens and promoting their clearance.
