Target Information

Mouse Prorelaxin 1 (Rln1) is a precursor protein that is processed into the active hormone relaxin-1. This hormone plays a crucial role in reproductive biology, particularly in pregnancy and childbirth. It helps soften the cervix and relax the uterus, facilitating delivery. Rln1 is also involved in cardiovascular regulation, promoting vasodilation and maintaining blood pressure. Additionally, it has anti-inflammatory properties, reducing tissue damage during inflammation. In mouse models, Rln1 is expressed in the uterus and ovaries, highlighting its importance in reproductive processes.
