Target Information

The feline β1-adrenergic receptor (ADRB1) is a G protein-coupled receptor mainly found in the heart and adipose tissue, with equal sensitivity to epinephrine and norepinephrine. It regulates cardiac contractility, heart rate, and lipolysis by activating adenylate cyclase and increasing intracellular cAMP levels. Additionally, ADRB1 is involved in cold-induced thermogenesis, circadian rhythm regulation, and brown fat cell differentiation. Abnormal function of this receptor in cats may be associated with cardiovascular diseases.
