Target Information

Mouse Podocalyxin (Podxl) is a transmembrane glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion, migration, and differentiation. It is expressed in embryonic stem cells, hematopoietic progenitors, and vascular/lymphatic endothelial cells. Podxl is essential for maintaining the glomerular filtration barrier and is implicated in kidney diseases like focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. It is also aberrantly expressed in various tumors, promoting progression and metastasis. Podxl regulates epithelial and tumor cell motility and is involved in cholesterol biosynthesis. It is a potential therapeutic target in cancer and renal diseases.
