Target Information
Equine IL-10 protein plays a significant role in immunomodulation and inflammation. It is produced by various cell types, including Th2 cells, dendritic cells, activated macrophages, B cells, and mast cells. IL-10 is known for its suppressive effects on dendritic cells and macrophages, which inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and IL-12, subsequently decreasing the development of Th1 cells. This cytokine is also involved in limiting and terminating the inflammatory response, and it has been shown to inhibit fibrosis, contributing to scar-free healing and restoring the normal extracellular matrix architecture in adult mice.
