Target Information
Chicken Replication Factor C Subunit 2 (RFC2) is a key component of the replication factor C (RFC) complex, which is essential for DNA replication and repair. RFC2 is part of a five-subunit protein complex that recognizes primer-template junctions and helps load proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) onto DNA, facilitating DNA synthesis by DNA polymerases δ and ε. In chickens, RFC2 is highly expressed in tissues with high rates of cell division, such as the thymus and spleen.
