Target Information
Rabbit Collagenase 3 (MMP13) is a matrix metalloproteinase that plays a critical role in the degradation of extracellular matrix proteins, particularly type II collagen. It is highly expressed during embryonic development and is essential for normal skeletal development. MMP13 is also involved in tissue remodeling, wound healing, and bone repair. In pathological conditions, such as osteoarthritis, MMP13 contributes to cartilage degradation and joint damage. Its activity is regulated by various signaling pathways and endogenous inhibitors like TIMPs. In rabbits, MMP13 can be used to study bone development, tissue repair, and the mechanisms of joint diseases.
