Recombinant Bovine Angiopoietin-2 (Angpt2)

Bovine angiopoietin 2 (ANGPT2) is a growth factor that acts as a modulator of the Tie2 receptor, which is crucial in the development and maintenance of the vascular system in cattle. As a naturally occurring antagonist of angiopoietin-1 (ANGPT1), ANGPT2 plays a significant role in vascular remodeling, inflammation, and immune responses. It is stored in endothelial Weibel-Palade bodies and can be rapidly released upon stimulation, such as during inflammation or ischemic conditions. The release of ANGPT2 leads to increased vascular permeability, promotion of leukocyte extravasation, and modulation of endothelial cell functions, which are essential for immune cell trafficking and tissue repair. ANGPT2's expression is tightly regulated and can be induced by various factors including hypoxia and inflammatory mediators, making it a key player in the pathophysiology of diseases such as acute lung injury, myocardial infarction, and cancer.
